Men’s Basketball to Host Cortland in SUNYAC Playoff Game Tonight

Buffalo State men's basketball will host a State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC) first round playoff matchup tonight at 7 p.m. against No. 7 Cortland at the Sports Arena. Tickets are $5 to the general public and $3 for students, but the first 200 Buffalo State students with ID will be FREE, sponsored by the Athletics Department. The Bengals concluded the regular season as a four-way co-champion of the SUNYAC and after the tie-breakers were applied, earned the No. 2 seed entering this week’s conference championship tournament.

The Senate Curriculum Committee is reminding all departments that Sunday, March 1, is the deadline for all IF (Intellectual Foundations) Course/Program proposal submissions. For all non-IF course/program submissions, the deadline is Tuesday, March 31, following spring break.

Free Kaplan Practice Tests for Students and Alumni

Please encourage all students and alumni who are interested in graduate school to sign up to take a free practice test with KAPLAN Test Prep on Wednesday, March 4. The following tests will be offered: GRE, GMAT, MCAT, and LSAT. Tests will be held in the Classroom Building 303A and will begin promptly at 6:00 p.m. Students are encouraged to arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of the exams. Interested students should sign up with the Career Development Center, Cleveland Hall 306, or call ext. 5811.

Storm Water Pollution Prevention Survey and Storm Water Management Plan

The Environmental Health and Safety Office (EH&S) has made available a Storm Water Pollution Prevention survey questionnaire and an updated campus Storm Water Management Plan (SWMP) on its Web site. The campus community is encouraged to fill out the questionnaire and review and comment on the SWMP, which has been modified to reflect changes to campus conditions and new requirements of the storm water discharge permit issued by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

The Exceptional Education Department will hold an informational meeting on Tuesday, February 24, and Thursday, March 5, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Ketchum Hall 113 (you need only attend one meeting). You will learn about the courses needed for the major, the requirements to become a major or premajor, how to apply, what teacher certifications you will receive, and what you can do with your degree upon graduation.
