A web survey has been created, with questions ranging from technology used in classrooms, kinds of software faculty use and desire, and how they would like to access it and have their students access it.

Opening Reception: <em>Women, the Arts, and the Environment</em>

The campus community is cordially invited to attend the opening reception for the 2009 Women's History Month exhibit, Women, the Arts, and the Environment, on display in the Butler Library main lobby exhibit cases. The reception will take place on Wednesday, March 4, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. in the Butler lobby. Please come to see a variety of artwork created by Buffalo State women students, faculty, staff, and alumni. This year's exhibit is environmentally themed, in keeping with the official theme of the National Women's History Project, "Women Taking the Lead to Save Our Planet."

Renaming and Dedication of the EOP Fund

The EOP Fund, a departmental fund for the Arthur O. Eve Educational Opportunity Program, will be renamed the Jaelah Yannis Jenkins EOP Fund, in honor of the late daughter of Director Yanick Jenkins, during a ceremony today, Friday, February 27, at 3:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union Fireside Lounge. Jaelah passed away in 2007, at age 10, from a brain tumor. EOP staff members hope her memory will live on through the fund, which supports EOP staff and the 877 students they serve.

Applications of Mathematical Modeling to Risk Management (Part I)

The Special Colloquium Series in Applied Mathematics will host five one-hour lectures throughout the spring 2009 semester. The first lecture of this series is today, Thursday, February 26, during Bengal Pause. The main purpose of the lecture series is to introduce students to some general aspects of Credit Risk, to take a closer look at Consumer Risk Management and to generate interest in potentially pursuing a career in the field of Financial Risk Management.

"Cosmic Eye: 400 Years of the Telescope" at the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium

The Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium, located in Science Building 115, presents the multimedia show "Cosmic Eye: 400 Years of the Telescope." The show details the history of the telescope through the tales of five astronomers and presents the evolution of the instrument that changed our perceptions of the universe around us. The show will run Fridays at 7:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. through March 20. Admission is $5. Buffalo State students are free with valid ID.

"Diamonds of the Winter" at the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium

The Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium, located in Science Building 115, presents the sky show "Diamonds of the Winter," illustrating the 2009 winter night sky, and includes a discussion on the special International Year of Astronomy Object of the month. The show will run Fridays at 8:00 p.m. and Saturdays at 2:00 p.m. through March 21. Admission is $5. Buffalo State students are free with valid ID.

SUNY Model European Union Meeting

There's still time to join Buffalo State's 2009 SUNY Model European Union team. All majors are welcome to participate. SUNY New Paltz hosts SUNYMEU April 2–4. This is great experience for future teachers who will advise political interest clubs such as Model UN or Mock Trial.
