Save the Date: McNair Scholars Alumni Chapter Bowling Fundraiser

The McNair Scholars Alumni Chapter is holding a bowling fundraiser for our David Matyjasik Scholarship Fund on Sunday, April 19, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. at Voelker’s Bowling Lanes on the corner of Elmwood and Amherst. The cost is $10 per person and includes two games of bowling and shoes. To purchase tickets or for more information, you can call the McNair Office at ext. 3411 or e-mail Jennifer Johnson.

Undergraduate Research: Small Grants Program Deadline Is February 25

This program provides up to $400 to assist students in carrying out their research and creative activities during the academic year. The award is designed to help defray the cost of travel, supplies, and other materials necessary to conduct the project. It is not intended as salary for the student. Call for Nominations: Women's Studies Student Awards

The Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Unit is seeking nominees for our yearly student award. Recipients will be recognized at a ceremony in April. Nominees must be current Buffalo State students who hold a GPA of at least 2.5, have completed substantial research in the field of gender and women's studies, and have taken at least one women's studies course (see http://www.buffalostate.edu/womensstudies/courserequirements.xml for a list of eligible courses).

The Buffalo State Fitness Center and the Health and Wellness Department are teaming up to provide the campus community with a great opportunity to get fit and healthy. Every Sunday, starting February 22 and lasting for eight weeks, the Fitness Center will open at 9:00 a.m.

We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of life in the recent plane crash in Clarence Center. Our thoughts are with their families and friends. As a community we are all feeling affected by this critical incident. It is important to reach out to friends and family for support. If any student, faculty, or staff member would like the assistance of a counselor, the Buffalo State Critical Incident Response team is available to help individuals respond to grief and trauma.
