Bengal 5K Run Traffic Alert: Saturday, March 14

Due to the 12th annual Bengal 5K Run and Fun Walk taking place on Saturday, March 14, there will be no exiting or entering all campus parking lots from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Runners and walkers will be on the course during this time frame as the majority of the course is being held on the Buffalo State campus, including Rockwell Road and Iroquois Drive. BSC 101, learning communities, and first year seminars provide faculty opportunities to bring particular subjects or courses to life in new ways. These programs are also important contributors to the intellectual climate we establish for incoming Buffalo State students.

Chemistry/Physics Seminar: Low Temperature Measurement Techniques

Professor Mohammed X. Tahar of SUNY Brockport will give a seminar on Thursday, March 12, at 12:30 p.m. in SC272. It will be an introduction to the methods used in measuring low temperatures and studying/testing materials for phase transitions of electronic and magnetic systems. The methods covered include resistance, specific heat, and magnetic susceptibility. Call Dr. DeMarco at ext. 6726 for further information.

137th Commencement: Faculty and Staff Invited to March and Usher

All faculty and staff are invited to celebrate with the Buffalo State Class of 2009 by marching or ushering in the 137th Commencement on Saturday, May 16. Baccalaureate ceremonies take place at 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. The Master’s and Certificate of Advanced Studies ceremony is at 6:00 p.m. All ceremonies are held in the Sports Complex, with a festive reception immediately following each.
