Danú, the most in-demand Celtic touring band to emerge from Ireland in the past decade, takes the stage at the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall on Friday, March 31, at 8:00 p.m. Tickets are $25 for Buffalo State faculty and staff and are on sale now. Don’t Have $99 for (Teacher Certification) Fingerprinting? No Problem

If you cannot bring a U.S. Postal Money Order for $99 payable to the New York State Education Department you can still be fingerprinted on Wednesday, March 29, in E. H. Butler Library 218 for a cost of $11 plus tax. The School of Education's Teacher Certification Office is sponsoring a visit from Thumbs Up Fingerprinting Service for those students seeking teacher certification. Thumbs Up will simply hold your fingerprints and you will be able to send them a $99 postal money order at a later date. Advance sign-up is required, so stop by the Teacher Certification Office (Caudell 101) to choose a time slot between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Remember to bring your fingerprint packet (provided by your teaching methods instructor), $11 plus tax (cash, check, or money order), and photo ID.

Heirloom and Art Appraisal Event Set for April 22 at the Burchfield-Penney

Ever wonder what that old lamp in your attic is worth? Curious about the pedigree of the painting over your hearth? Discover the value of your household treasures by coming to a special event at the Burchfield-Penney Art Center. The museum, in association with Ritchies Auctioneers and Appraisers in Toronto, will be hosting an Heirloom and Art Appraisal Day on Saturday, April 22, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Burchfield-Penney. This event will allow visitors to seek the advice of international experts from Ritchies on a wide array of heirloom artworks, antiques, and decorative pieces. Appraisers will provide a verbal assessment of value for up to three items per reserved 15-minute appointment. Please note that the appraisers on hand that day will NOT be able to value jewelry, books, stamps and coins. Contemporary regional art is also strongly discouraged. The cost for appraisal is $10 per item or three for $25 for Burchfield-Penney members, and $15 per item or three for $40 for non-members. Reserved appointments are required and are going FAST!
