Stories of the Americas Series: Issues in Canadian Historic Treaties

Posted:

On April 4, Stories of the Americas will hold a presentation by Canadian government representative Murray Wagner at 7:00 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210. Wagner, from Indian and Northern Affairs Canada (INAC) in Quebec, will discuss the Canadian government's Round Table policy renewal initiatives from 1995 to present. From this Round Table came the initiation of an extensive Aboriginal policy review process within Canada's federal government. Since Native American treaties continue to play an important role in our Western New York community, Wagner's presentation offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into how our neighbors to the North are addressing similar issues. The presentation will be followed by a reception for Mr. Wagner.
