17th Annual Human Services Career Fair

On Tuesday March 7, the Career Development Center, in cooperation with the Niagara Frontier College Placement Association, will be sponsoring the 17th annual Human Services Career Fair. The event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the University at Buffalo North Campus in their Student Union Social Hall. The event is open to all Buffalo State College students and alumni from any major. The event is free of charge.

Buffalo Rapids to Play at Sports Arena

The Buffalo State Sports Arena will host the final regular season basketball game of the Buffalo Rapids’ inaugural season on Sunday, March 5, at 7:00 p.m. NBA legend Darryl Dawkins and his Newark Express will face off against Coach Jacob and the Buffalo Rapids. Dubbed in recent news as "Plenty of fight on, off court," the Rapids are sure to deliver an intense game as they battle for a position in the ABA playoffs. Tickets are $10 each and can be purchased in advance at the Rockwell Hall and Student Union box offices.

MentorNet - Two Important Dates: March 2 and March 10

Don't miss the MentorNet breakfast meeting scheduled for March 2 in the Campus House Board Room from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The topic for the MentorNet discussion is "How Mentoring Undergraduates Is Different than Mentoring Graduate Students." If you are interested in learning more about effective mentoring strategies and meeting other colleagues that share your interest in mentoring activities, then join MentorNet. Are you and an undergraduate planning to submit an application to the Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship Program? Increase your likelihood for success by attending the Mentoring Workshop. The workshop will present mentoring tips, offer models for effective mentoring, and provide opportunities for you to discuss your mentoring experiences with other faculty mentors. The workshop will take place from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. in Twin Rise 201. Light refreshments will be provided. The workshop is designed for you to attend just part of the session, or plan to stay the entire time.
