The Staff Appreciation Picnic will be held on Thursday, June 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Rockwell Quad. The rain location is the Ice Arena. For those support staff who are unable to attend the picnic, pizza and wings will be served in the Bulger Communication Center at 11:00 p.m.

The Hills Are Alive with the Sound of Buffalo State!

The Buffalo State Alumni Association invites you to attend a special reception preceding two upcoming concerts at the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall on Tuesday, April 22, and Tuesday, April 29. The Buffalo State College Wind Ensemble will perform on April 22, and the Buffalo State College Jazz Ensemble will perform on April 29. Stop by the Metcalfe Room in Rockwell Hall for refreshments followed by an opportunity to hear our accomplished student musicians. Both receptions will start at 7:00 p.m., and the concerts (starting at 8:00 p.m.) are free. For reservations, call the Alumni Office at ext. 6001.

Turnitin and ANGEL Integration Webinar

On Thursday, September 4, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m., Turnitin will be conducting a Webinar for our campus. This Webinar will be a demonstration of the unique integration between Turnitin and ANGEL. They will walk through how to set up a Turnitin drop box along with explaining how to view the Originality Reports for your students' papers.

Teacher Certification: Fingerprinting Session

On Wednesday, October 22, the School of Education, Teacher Certification Office, is sponsoring a visit from Fingerprint Solutions Fingerprinting Service for those students seeking teacher certification. The session will be held in Butler Library 210. Advance sign up is required, so stop by the Teacher Certification Office (Caudell Hall 101) to select a time slot between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Study French in Quebec This Summer

Students can find out how they can earn 6 to 10 undergraduate or graduate credits studying French in Quebec this summer on Tuesday, February 26, at 12:15 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center North 2B. They will learn how financial aid applies and about scholarships that are available. Encourage students to learn more about this affordable way to develop their language skills!

Faculty Mentors Needed for Study of Students Involved in Individualized Projects

The Undergraduate Research Office and the Psychology Department are conducting an evaluation of critical research thinking skills in students and are seeking the participation of faculty mentors and mentees. The project will require about an hour of time at both now and at the end of the semester. Faculty and students will each receive a $50 gift card for their time. For more information, contact Professor Jill Norvilitis in the Psychology Department.

Newman Center Offers Weekly Masses

Father Pat, Director of Catholic Campus Ministry at the Newman Center, welcomes all Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff to join him for weekly Mass. Mass is celebrated at the Newman Center Chapel, 1219 Elmwood Avenue, on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. and on Sundays at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. On Fridays at 12:05 p.m., Mass is celebrated on campus in E. H. Butler Library 208. Times and locations for special holy day Masses will be scheduled and posted as they occur throughout the academic year. All are welcome!

In an effort to streamline requests for work, expedite scheduling, and avoid duplication, Campus Services reminds faculty and staff to contact Customer Service at ext. 6111 or use the Web-based work order request site at http://workrequest.buffalostate.edu to place requests for work or services. Customer Service turns these requests into work orders and forwards them directly to the appropriate shop supervisors for scheduling. National Student Exchange Student Information Sessions

Where would you want your students to study if they had 200 colleges and universities to choose from? Have your students learn about what the National Student Exchange (NSE) program can offer them at information sessions held today, Tuesday, November 18, and Thursday, November 20, during Bengal Pause (12:15–1:30 p.m.) and Friday, November 21, at 3:00 p.m. All sessions will be held in E. H. Butler Library 210. Hope to see your students there!
