The next Philosophy and Humanities Department Student Colloquia takes place on Thursday, April 17, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Ketchum Hall 100. Philosophy major Gene Yarmolinets will present “Can Intellectuals Be Decent Human Beings?” with commentator Jessica Hazen (a double major in communications and philosophy). Peace Corps Exhibit and Recruiting Session

On Monday, March 3, two events will be held in E. H. Butler Library 210 to celebrate Peace Corps service. A reception for the opening of Bringing the World Back to Western New York: Memorabilia from Returned Peace Corps Volunteers, an exhibit of world artifacts related to Peace Corps service, will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. This exhibit will be featured in the E. H. Butler Library lobby throughout the month of March. A panel discussion where returned Peace Corps volunteers and the regional Peace Corps recruiter share information about Peace Corps service will take place from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. All faculty, staff, students, and alumni are welcome to attend both the reception and the panel discussion. Please share this information with students.

The Career Development Center, in cooperation with the Western New York Association of College Career Centers, will sponsor the 19th annual Human Services Career Fair on Tuesday, March 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the University at Buffalo North (Amherst) Campus in the Student Union Social Hall. The event is free and open to all Buffalo State College students and alumni from any major.

The WNY Women’s Hall of Fame, founded by Project Flight in 1997 and housed in the foyer of Rockwell Hall, will hold its 12th annual Induction Luncheon on Thursday, March 13, from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Regency. Keynote speaker will be Margaret M. Sullivan, editor and vice president of the Buffalo News.
