Goal Setting for Personal Success is the first session in the Workshops to Success series sponsored by University College’s Academic Skills Center and offered free to Buffalo State students. Instructor-tutor Keith Fulcher will discuss the importance of envisioning your future before you can live that future. Discover your path to success by first imagining what steps you need to take to succeed. The workshop is on Tuesday, February 26, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. (Bengal Pause), in Classroom Building B119.

ANGEL User Conference: Call for Proposals

The sixth annual ANGEL User Conference (AUC) will be held May 19–21 at the Duke Energy Center in Cincinnati, Ohio. You’ve spent time and energy mastering ANGEL; now share your experience, skills, and knowledge with other ANGEL users! As an incentive, Buffalo State faculty who have a proposal accepted will have the $325 conference registration fee covered. Proposal guidelines are available online. Proposals must be submitted online and are due Saturday, March 1. Please note that all presenters will need to make travel arrangements and cover flight, hotel accommodation, and meal costs. The incentive to submit a proposal covers the cost of the registration fee only if the proposal is accepted. Those who submit proposals will be notified of their proposal status by Monday, March 31. Newest Bengal Magazine Available Online

The latest edition of Bengal Magazine is now available for viewing on the Athletics home page. The 30-minute biweekly show is a collaboration between Athletics and Instructional Resources. This week's show features men's basketball coach Fajri Ansari and senior forward Dion Mozelle; women's basketball coach Sue Roarke and senior guard Lindsay Smith; a feature on two-sport standout Barb Kiliszek (basketball / soccer) and Student-Athlete Advisory Committee executive board members Erin Silky and Vince Wasneechak. Camille Claudel: Her Life and Works

This exceptional UNESCO-sponsored 40-minute documentary on Camille Claudel's creative art and tumultuous relationship with Auguste Rodin will be shown on Tuesday, February 26, at 8:00 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210 on the occasion of the monthly meeting of the Buffalo-Lille Association Inc. The film is in French with English subtitles. Admission is free. Study in Spain This Summer

On Wednesday, February 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Bacon Hall 115, students can learn how to earn six credits studying in Salamanca, Spain, this summer. They will find out how scholarships and financial aid can make it possible, meet the director of the program, speak with past participants, view a PowerPoint presentation, and sample authentic Spanish tapas. They can also enter a drawing for travel gear by completing the first two pages of the program application that evening. Students are free to bring family members and friends.

New Ideas and Continental Breakfast at 'Why Bother?' Lecture

The “Why Bother?” lecture series presents “Exploring the Digital Frontier: ‘Natives’ and ‘Immigrants’ Learning from Each Other,” featuring Debra Sprague, associate professor at George Mason University and editor of the Journal of Technology and Teacher Education, on Friday, February 22, from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210. This session will offer participants new ways to think about the students in elementary, high school, and college whose lives involve technology. The 2008 program, the second “Why Bother” lecture, has been designed for members of the Buffalo State College Teacher Education Unit and alumni who are teaching. Other alumni and members of the Buffalo State community are also welcome. More information is available on the University College Web site.
