If you want to submit requests but have not received the request forms, contact your department chair or program director. Prioritized request lists must be submitted by the chair or director no later than October 15, 2004 to the following address:

Outdoor Art Installations

Three outdoor fiber art installations will take place on campus this week and remain on view throughout the month of October in recognition of Arts and Humanities Month. The projects were designed by students in the Fiber Arts Program in response to a concept proposed by Design professor Jozef Bajus. All three works of art will be made of cotton fiber and will involve trees. Artwork will be installed in the Union Quad (between Campbell Student Union and Bulger Communication Center), Rockwell Quad, and Upton Quad. Actual installation times will be determined by weather conditions.

Traffic Advisory for Friday, October 8

Posted:

New York State Department of Transportation has advised that on Friday, October 8, 2004, traffic on the Grant Street Bridge over Rte 198 (Scajaquada Expressway) will be limited to a single lane with flag men controlling traffic at either side of the bridge. The lane reduction will start about 8:00 am and continue to the end of the day. Alternative routes to campus are available. Elmwood Avenue, Delaware Avenue, and Niagara Street exits of Rte 198 may be less congested and may save you time entering the campus. Please drive carefully, expect delays, and be prepared to stop in traffic.

Spring Textbook Orders

Submitted by Lynn Puma, Barnes & Noble at Buffalo State Bookstore. Thanks to your initiative, students shared a savings of $250,000 this fall by purchasing used textbooks. Help us keep the savings coming to students! We need your book orders as early as possible. Any faculty member who submits their order by Wednesday, October 6 will receive $5 in B&N Bucks that can be used on anything in the store! Department secretaries who submit 50% of their departments orders by October 6 will receive $10 in B&N Bucks!
