Art Education Department Student Exhibition Reception

The Art Education Department (AED) Student Exhibition is currently on display in the Czurles-Nelson Gallery in Upton Hall. The AED Student Chapter has diligently organized a closing reception to be held Thursday, April 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in the lobby outside of the gallery. We now have a master schedule listing online-only sections (sections being offered 100 percent online) for both summer and fall 2010. It will be updated on the same schedule as the regular summer and fall master schedule, every weekday evening until July 28, 2010.

Buffalo State Iron Pour: Community Fundraiser for Haiti Relief Efforts

On Saturday, April 10, at 9:00 a.m., the Iron Pour begins. Everyone is welcome! Sand molds are available for purchase. No experience is necessary. Sand molds are pre-made and ready for purchase; $15 to $30 per block (includes mold and metal). Tools will be available to carve your imagery in these molds. Molds will produce a one-sided relief sculpture, which will be poured for you by Buffalo State sculpture students. You must arrive early on Saturday to prepare your mold, or you can purchase and work on your mold the day prior to the pour.

Student Ambassador Program Seeks Nominations

Do you know an outstanding undergraduate student who could serve as an ambassador of Buffalo State College? The Buffalo State Student Ambassador organization is seeking nominations from faculty and staff until April 15, 2010. Student Ambassadors assist the Undergraduate Admissions Office with greeting campus visitors, providing campus tours to prospective students and their families, and assisting with on- and off-campus recruitment events.

Talk on Confucius and Confucianism: Tomorrow

In celebration of Buffalo State's fourth annual China Week, Yu Jiyuan, professor of philosophy at the University at Buffalo, will speak on "Confucius and Confucianism," tomorrow at noon in Bacon Hall 215. Refreshments will be served. This event is supported by an Equity and Campus Diversity grant, the Research Foundation, the Sociology Department, and University College.
