Thanks to the unprecedented generosity of the campus faculty, staff, and students, the Hearts for Haiti Basket Raffle was a huge success! The raffle raised $1,365 which will be donated to the Children of Haiti Project. The Haitian Relief Committee extends our heartfelt gratitude to everyone that participated by donating a basket or buying tickets at the raffle.

Join Buffalo State alum and celebrated watercolor artist Rita Argen Auerbach, Saturday, May 8, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for a one-time adult workshop. The day begins with an inspirational look at Heat Waves in a Swamp: The Paintings of Charles Burchfield. Rita will then take participants to Delaware Park for an afternoon of painting in nature–just as Charles Burchfield did.

Eric Gansworth, a professor at Canisius College, Onondaga poet, novelist, playwright, and artist will speak about the struggles of today's Haudenosaunee people, Tuesday evening, April 20, 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center South.

Due to an oversight, the names of support staff and management-confidential employees were not entered in the computer system for the At-Large Senate elections, preventing many people from voting. To correct this problem, a special election has been set up for these employees only, between Monday, April 19, and Friday, April 23, at 11:59 p.m. at http://bscintra.buffalostate.edu/vote/. Voting for faculty and professional staff concluded on Friday, April 16, and this error did not affect the University Faculty Senate election. The Senate Bylaws committee apologizes for the error.

On Wednesday, April 21, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in E. H. Butler 210, faculty and staff are invited to participate in hour-long workshops geared toward achieving the goals of Buffalo State’s strategic and academic plans to increase our students’ learning about diversity and things international.

Tomorrow, Saturday, April 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. kids are invited to celebrate Earth Day artistically by creating with the beauty of nature. With inspiration taken from the work of Andy Goldsworthy, Western New York artist and educator Mary Ellen Bossert will take children to Delaware Park to create their own Land Art sculptures.

Everett L. Glenn, CEO and president of Entertainment and Sports Plus, a Southern California-based athlete and entertainer management firm with offices in Atlanta, Cleveland, and Philadelphia, will speak on campus, Wednesday, April 28, from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Burchfield Penney Art Center.
