Important Senate Curriculum Committee SharePoint Presentation

On Monday, June 28, from 10:00 a.m. to noon, the incoming chair of the Senate Curriculum Committee, Michael Lazich, and CTS SharePoint programmer, Neil Palmer, will hold a very important presentation for all associate deans, department chairs, and those staff members that handle curriculum duties within their respective departments, on the Sharepoint system. Your presence and feedback are needed. The presentation will take place in E. H. Butler Library 210. The goal of this is to unify everyone on this topic, before the start of the fall 2010 semester.

<em>Ambiguous Prospects</em> Exhibition

Elena Lourenco, assistant professor of sculpture in the Fine Arts Department, will be exhibiting her recent sculptural works in a solo exhibiton titled Ambiguous Prospects at the Big Orbit Gallery. The exhibition will open to the public on Saturday, June 5, and will run through mid-July. You are all invited to join the artist at her opening reception on Saturday June 5, from 8:00 to 11:00 p.m.

Graduate School Online Application

The Graduate School is pleased to announce the implementation of its new online application for graduate applicants in all programs, Monday, June 7, 2010. This will be effective for applicants beginning summer 2010. The online application will replace the paper application. It is anticipated that the online application will result in more timely submission of applications by students. Applicants will be able to monitor the status of their application from receipt to decision.

Toast to the City with the Alumni Association

Celebrate the Buffalo State Alumni Association's fifth annual Toast to the City wine tasting, Thursday, June 17, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the steps of Rockwell Hall. This event will feature samples from Bordeaux Wine, Chateau Buffalo, Empire Merchants, Eveningside Vineyards, Friar's Table, Just Vino, Second Cup, Seneca Niagara Casino, Sodexho, Southern Wines, Sweet Tooth, Prime Wines, Tastings, and Yancey's Fancy. Live music by local jazz-funk band Uncle Harv.

<em>It Can't Happen Here</em>

Stephen Houseknecht, lecturer, Fine Arts Department, will be presenting his work in an exhibit titled It Can't Happen Here, joining fellow photographer Paula Sciuk's work The State of Miscibility, at the Buffalo Big Print Gallery. The exhibition opens to the public on Friday, June 4, and will run through Thursday, June 24. Everyone is invited to join the artists for their opening reception on Friday, June 4, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Buffalo Big Print Gallery is located at 78 Allen Street, Buffalo, N.Y., 14202.

Electronic Media: IE Printer/toner cartridges, tapes, disks, CDs/DVDs and cell phones can be recycled in the red electronic media bins located in each department. Glass, plastic and metal: in green bins. Wipe out/empty and rinse all food containers.
