Community Gallery Artists Meet and Greet: The St. Philip's Quilters

On Saturday, July 24, from noon to 2:00 p.m., the women of the St. Philip’s Quilters group will hold a quilting session in the Burchfield Penney Art Center’s Studio Classroom. Their exhibition Colorful Quilts That Bind Us Together showcases 13 works on view from June 25 to August 29. Bring in your own quilting projects, come with questions and enjoy this rare opportunity!

Summer 2010 Session B Grading Window

Faculty will enter their summer 2010 session B grades using Banner. The grading window will open Thursday, July 22, at 10:00 a.m. and close Friday, July 29, at 10:00 a.m. In preparation, faculty are encouraged to logon to Banner to be sure that all of their courses are listed under their account. Detailed documentation for entering grades is available online. Additionally, assistance is available by calling Computing Help Desk, Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at ext. 4357. If you have any questions about grading, please call the Registrar's Office at ext. 4811.

New Tool Available to Transfer Students and Advisers: TABS

A new tool for determining transfer course equivalencies at Buffalo State is now available to advisers and transfer students. Transfer Articulation Buffalo State (TABS) is accessible through Banner self service by clicking on "Undergraduate Transfer Guide." TABS includes all courses for which there is an established equivalency. Any changes made to Banner will be reflected immediately in TABS. TABS replaces any previous transfer tools used at Buffalo State.

Requesting Accounts for New Employees

Do you have a new faculty or staff member starting in your department or office? If so, don't forget to contact the Help Desk (878-4357) to request new faculty or staff user accounts (e.g., e-mail, Banner). You can also submit the request using our online form. Accounts must be requested by the new employee’s supervisor or department secretary. This is the only way to ensure that new employees will have access to campus systems on their start date.

Creating Effective Response Protocols to Intervene in Violence Against Women

Power-based interpersonal violence (sexual assault, relationship violence, and stalking) in all its forms is one of the most underreported crimes on campus. In this webinar, Peter J. Meagher, Ph.D., associate dean of students at Reed College in Portland, Oregon, will discuss impediments to reporting this violence. Meagher will also present effective and sensitive strategies to assist administrators and residence hall, security, health, and counseling staff to more effectively respond to students who report experiencing sexual assault, intimate partner violence, or stalking.
