The Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall proudly announces the 2010–2011 Great Performers Series, presented by M&T Bank. The Great Performers Series features world-class artists in the intimate setting of Rockwell Hall. The series includes performances by smooth jazz trumpeter Rick Braun; witty comedian Steven Wright; folk music legend Arlo Guthrie; captivating jazz singer Esperanza Spalding; comedian Josh Blue; guitar hero Al DiMeola; saxophonist Boney James; and acappella singers Rockapella.

24/7 QuietQuad Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony August 31

E. H. Butler Library invites students, faculty, and staff to attend the grand opening celebration of our new 24/7 QuietQuad. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place on Tuesday, August 31, at 12:15 p.m. (please use the side entrance to Butler Library, across from Cleveland Hall).The expanded facility features comfortable lounge areas, quiet study spaces, computers, and a spacious assistive technology center. Please join us!

New Student Day of Welcome

All new Buffalo State students are invited to join the staff at the Newman Center for our Day of Welcome on Sunday, August 29. We begin with mass in our chapel at 1219 Elmwood Avenue at 11:30 a.m., followed by a BBQ lunch, to which students and their families are invited. At 2:00 p.m., students will depart for a tour of Niagara Falls. It's all free and transportation is provided. Invite a student friend! Just e-mail us or call (716) 882-1080 to reserve a spot.

Academic Regalia Rental Deadline Extended

Barnes & Noble at Buffalo State Bookstore has announced that faculty and staff who rent academic regalia for Academic Convocation on September 16 may keep it for the inauguration ceremony of President Podolefsky on October 29. The bookstore has also graciously agreed to extend the deadline to Monday, August 23, at 4:30 p.m., for faculty and staff who wish to rent regalia for both events. Rentals can be made by contacting the Barnes & Noble at Buffalo State Bookstore in person, by mail, or by telephone at ext. 5509.
