The Volunteer and Service-Learning Center (VSLC) will hold its "Lend a Hand" Volunteer Fair on Wednesday, September 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union lobby. Please encourage students to attend and meet with representatives from organizations in need of volunteers. All majors are welcome. The Music Department opens its Faculty and Friends Concert Series with a piano recital by Bryan Boyce on Tuesday, September 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center at Rockwell Hall.

Next Thursday, September 9, at 12:15 p.m. in Bacon Hall 115, students can learn about the benefits of study abroad and the more than 400 overseas programs in 60 countries sponsored by the State University of New York.

The Art Conservation Department is holding its annual clinic on Friday, September 17, from 9:00 a.m. to noon and 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. To make an appointment to have an object or paper piece examined for possible conservation treatment, please call our department secretary at ext. 5025. Paper artwork such as watercolors, prints, drawings, letters, documents, or rare books will be examined, in addition to objects such as three-dimensional artifacts made of ceramic, metal, glass, stone, wood, or composite constructions. When calling for an appointment, please make sure to specify the artwork you plan to bring in. Appointments are required and are filling up fast!

The Counseling Center is seeking students interested in becoming a part of its student advisory committee. The committee will assist the center with tasks such as planning or revising programs and services. A general meeting is scheduled for September 17 at 12:30 p.m. in Weigel Health Center 203. We are asking students to call (ext. 4436) or e-mail to confirm their attendance.
