Workshop: So You Want to be a Cop?

Designed for students who want a career in law enforcement, the workshop/seminar is titled “So You Want to be a Cop…?" Members from the local, state, and federal level will talk about the hurdles to criminal justice employment. This event is not a job fair, but rather it is designed to provide valuable information and more of a “these are the things you need to know, do, or be aware of” in order to do what I do.

Domestic Violence Survivor Talks about Being a "Victim Turned Victor"

As part of Buffalo State’s Domestic Violence Awareness programs, Suzanne Perry will tell her story of being isolated from family and friends and plucked from society at the tender age of 17, subjected to a 22-year virtual prison term as a victim of domestic violence. She describes her journey from being controlled to taking control, from being a punching bag to being a business owner.

Tell Students: Scholarship Opportunity

The staff at the Information Technology Exchange Center (ITEC) has established a scholarship. The award(s) will be given in December to a student who is enrolled in the fall 2010 semester and shows promise in the study of computing and technology. The scholarship is not restricted to CIS majors; past recipients have been students majoring in Technology Education, Exceptional Education, and Exceptional Education/Childhood Education, Computer Information Systems/Business Administration, Biology, Urban and Regional Analysis and Planning, Electrical Engineering Technology, and Fashion and Textile Technology.

Application Deadline Today: Faculty/Staff Emerging College Leaders Program

Applications and nominations are being accepted through today, Monday, November 1, for the May 2011 Emerging College Leaders program for faculty and professional staff. Health Insurance Option Transfer Period

Each year, employees who are enrolled in the New York State Health Insurance Program may select a different health plan by completing change forms in the Human Resource Management Office. Employees may choose from the Empire Plan or one of the health maintenance organizations.
