Digital cameras, video and audio recorders, projectors, and more may be reserved in person at the Application Support Desk or by using our convenient online request form. <em>Design Student Exhibition</em> Opening Reception

The annual Design Student Exhibition is on display through March 11 in the Czurles-Nelson Gallery in Upton Hall. Join us this Thursday, February 25, for an opening reception from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. and student award presentation at 6:00 p.m. Celebrate with us as we recognize our skilled and talented student designers in ceramics, fibers, metals/jewelry, wood/furniture, and communication design. Library Announces <em>The Butler News</em>

It has been over three years since E. H. Butler Library launched the Butler blog, and we’ve watched our readership grow from five visitors a month to an average of 200+ visitors a day! With so many folks reading the blog, we thought it was time for an updated look and name. Our newest creation, The Butler News, will continue to keep our readers current with the latest and greatest from E. H. Butler Library. Improved features include the addition of a Meebo Bar, so you can easily share posts through Facebook, Tweet an event to all your friends, or “Ask a Librarian” through our IM help service. The Butler News will also be able to incorporate video posts.

Creating Policy Change Through Personal Experience

Kendra, a young, aspiring writer and photographer, was killed in 1999 when a man suffering from untreated schizophrenia pushed her in front of a subway train. As a result, Kendra's family and the Treatment Advocacy Center (TAC) fought to prevent further tragedies in the community by promoting new legislation to help seriously and chronically mentally ill individuals.

Haiti Teach-In

The Provost's Office and the Equity and Campus Diversity Office will sponsor two programs to help our students, faculty, and staff be more aware of the complex issues related to Haiti as it seeks to rebuild after its tragic earthquake. Both programs will be held in E. H. Butler Library 210, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m.

Reminder On the Use of Municipal Parking Permits for Persons with Disabilities

The fraudulent use of a municipal parking permit for persons with disabilities is a serious offense. Such misuse may result in a $50 fine, tow of the vehicle in use, and confiscation of the municipal parking permit. The issuing office of the municipal parking permit for persons with disabilities will be advised of the infraction. Students found misusing the permit will be referred to Judicial Affairs for further disciplinary action.

Proposal Writing Workshop for CASTL Fellowship

The Carnegie Academy for the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (CASTL) is now accepting applications for three one-year, $3,000 faculty development fellowships to promote the scholarship of teaching and learning (SOTL) on campus. A proposal writing workshop, “Designing a SOTL Study that meets the Fellowship Criteria” will be held on Tuesday, March 2, from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m. in Twin Rise 102. All tenured and tenure-track Buffalo State faculty members are encouraged to attend.
