Students Can Now View Spring 2010 Registration Start Dates in Banner

As of October 21, students can view their registration start date in Banner under "Registration Status,” view their holds, if any, and search for spring courses. Registration start dates are between November 4 and November 17 inclusive for current students. Registration begins at 6:00 a.m. on each start date and is then continuous. For continuing undergraduate freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors, registration start dates are based on earned credit hours only. Credit hours during fall 2009 are "in progress."

The Buffalo State Alumni Association welcomes nominations from faculty and staff for the 2010 Distinguished Alumnus Award, presented annually at commencement. This is a very prestigious honor awarded to alumni who meet the following criteria: (1) Significant achievement and recognition in their field; (2) Dedication to community service, civic affairs, and volunteerism on a local, state, national, or international level; and (3) Demonstrated ongoing support for and loyalty to the college and its mission.

Carl Wilkens: A True Humanitarian

The African and African American Studies Interdisciplinary Unit (AAAS) invites students, faculty, and staff to a lecture by Carl Wilkens, Thursday, October 29, 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center North. Carl Wilkens was the only American who stayed in Rwanda after the 1994 genocide started. His decision resulted in preventing the massacre of hundreds of orphans between April and July 1994. His story has inspired many in the USA, in Rwanda, and around the world.
