Equity and Campus Diversity Program Grants for Spring 2010

The President's Council on Equity and Campus Diversity is accepting applications for Spring 2010 Equity and Campus Program Grants. Grants of up to $2,000 will be available to support projects and programs that contribute to improvement in respect for diversity and individual difference in academic programs, diversity courses in the Intellectual Foundation programs, and out-of-class experiences. Faculty, staff, and student groups are eligble to apply for the grants. Information is available at www.buffalostate.edu/equity.

Course Redesign: Lessons Learned from ECO 101

Join Bill Ganley, Meghan Pereira, and Karen O’Quin on Tuesday, December 1, from 12:15 to 1:30 p.m. in Classroom Building B118 for a panel discussion of the ECO 101 course redesign. We went from multiple sections of traditional lecture to a single section of a large hybrid course, replacing in-class meetings with online activities. Practical aspects, difficulties encountered, training of undergraduate learning assistants, and other topics will be discussed, along with ample time for audience participation. Light refreshments.
