Elementary Education Teacher Candidates Publish Original Math and Science Books

In the fall of 2009, 16 early childhood and childhood elementary education teacher candidates taking EDU312: Teaching of Science and Mathematics in the Elementary School, received their first published books in the subject of math or science. This course and project are headed by Coralee Smith, associate professor, Elementary Education and Reading Department. Smith has included Create, Publish, and Share Project (CPS) Phase II as part of the curriculum for her students since spring of 2008.

The Buffalo State Alumni Association welcomes nominations from faculty and staff for the 2010 Distinguished Alumnus Award, presented annually at commencement. This is a very prestigious honor awarded to alumni who meet the following criteria: (1) Significant achievement and recognition in their field; (2) Dedication to community service, civic affairs and volunteerism on a local, state, national, or international level; and (3) Demonstrated ongoing support for and loyalty to the college and its mission.

Father Pat, director of Catholic Campus Ministry at the Newman Center, welcomes all faculty, staff, and students to join him at the Newman Center, 1219 Elmwood Avenue, on Monday, December 7, at 6:00 p.m. for Mass to celebrate the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
