Fall 2010 Banner Drop-In Input Sessions

Drop-in sessions will be held in E. H. Butler Library 316 from 9:00 a.m. to noon on the following dates: January 14, January 19, January 20, and January 22. You do not need to register, just drop in as needed. Bring all input materials with you as you will do your data entry while there. A member from the Registrar's Office will be available to assist you with questions.

Registrar’s Office Collecting Donations for the Holidays

The Registrar’s Office is collecting donations for the True Praise and Worship Outreach in Buffalo. Requested items include: toys and gifts for children of all ages and teenagers 13 to 17 years old; hats and gloves for children and adults; used coats and clothes for all ages and sizes, baby to adult; non-perishable food for the Food Bank; The Food Bank provides food for the needy in the Bailey and Walden area. Each Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m., people in need are given one bag of food.

Fall 2009 Grading Window

Faculty will enter their fall 2009 grades using Banner. The grading window will open Monday, December 14, at 10:00 a.m. and close Monday, December 21, at 10:00 a.m. In preparation, faculty are encouraged to logon to Banner to be sure that all of their courses are listed under their account. Detailed documentation for entering grades is available by accessing http://buffalostate.edu/banner/documents/grading.pdf.

CTE/BME Open Advisement

Open advisement for all Career Technical and Business Marketing Education students will be held on Tuesday January 19. The advisement will be available in Bacon Hall 110 between 5:00 and 7:00 p.m. Faculty from these departments will be available to assist you. Please bring any information (Degree Navigator, etc.) that will be needed for your advisement.

Celebrate the New Year with a New Canoe!

The Buffalo State College Maritime Center is offering a workshop on building a traditional, canvas-covered canoe with instructor Lew Markle, a professional builder/restorer based in East Aurora. Participants will build the traditional canoe mold and then craft a 15-foot canoe over the mold. Lots will be drawn to take the canoe home and participants will be entitled to use the mold in coming months to build a canoe of their own. The workshop begins on January 6 and takes place at the Maritime Center at 901 Fuhrmann Blvd. on the Outer Harbor.

Great Lakes Center Seminar: Room Change

Please join us for a seminar presented by Greg Boyer, executive director of the Great Lakes Research Consortium and professor of biochemistry, today, Monday, December 7, at 3:00 p.m. in Upton Hall 230 (note new location). The seminar is titled "Toxic Cyanobacteria in the Great Lakes: Problems, Issues, and Solutions." Light refreshments will be served. Faculty, staff, and students are welcome.
