Upcoming repairs to Cleveland Hall

Posted:

The two main elevators in Cleveland Hall will be rebuilt beginning on or about May 12th. One elevator will remain functional while the other is being serviced. Each elevator is expected to be out of service for approximately 4 weeks, with the first 3 or 4 days of work expected to be somewhat noisy.

Cleveland Hall masonry restoration is also scheduled to begin in mid-May. Asbestos-containing caulk will be removed from the building exterior, and nearby windows will be covered with plastic. Sections of brick veneer walls will be removed and reconstructed, and exterior concrete will be repaired. There will be some noise associated with the masonry restoration, which we anticipate will last eight to ten weeks.

If you have questions, please contact Bob Yankelunas (863-7377) who will be overseeing the work with assistance from Ron Knox and Bob Muscarella from the State University Construction Fund.
