The time for the Wednesday, December 3, afternoon meeting of the Faculty Mentoring Focus Group has been changed to 1:30–2:45 p.m. in Cleveland Hall 205.
The SUNY Board of Trustees recently passed an emergency resolution to increase tuition for the spring term. As a result, NYSHESC will be recalculating TAP grants for the neediest students to reflect the increase in tuition. For some students, the increase will be entirely covered by an increase in their TAP grant. Revised notices will be sent to affected students via e-mail shortly.
Once again the generosity of our community has come through to support the SEFA/United Way Campaign. Thanks to all who helped us to achieve our goal of $155,000. Our final tally is $167,701.
The Barnes & Noble at Buffalo State Bookstore will feature author Clifford Bell and his new book, A Full Life—a selection of poetic, inspirational writings with a CD included—on Thursday, December 4. The event will take place from noon until 2:00 p.m. during our holiday sale event. Refreshments will be served.

Author David Lawrence Reade will feature two of his books, Four Seasons of Letchworth and Western New York Wild: Celebrating Our Rich Natural Hertitage. The event will be held on Tuesday, December 2 from 12:00-2:00 p.m. at the Barnes & Noble at Buffalo State Bookstore. Please join us.
The Buffalo State Alumni Association welcomes nominations for the 2009 Distinguished Alumnus Award, presented annually at Commencement. This is a very prestigious honor awarded to alumni who meet the following criteria: (1) significant achievement and recognition in their field or profession; (2) dedication to community service, civic affairs and volunteerism on a local, state, national, or international level; and (3) demonstrated ongoing support for and loyalty to the college and its mission.
To accommodate an upgrade to the electrical back-up power for campus's main computer system, the southwest entrance to the Twin Rise complex will be closed for two to three weeks beginning December 1, 2008. The entrance will be unavailable even in the event of an emergency. All other entrances/exits to the complex will be open as usual during this time. Questions may be forwarded to Campus Services at ext. 6111. Thank you for your understanding as we undertake this critical campus project.
