When Recycling Printer Cartridges and Toners

In order to help us efficiently recycle, please remove cartridges/toners from their boxes when depositing them in the red electronic media recycling bin. These boxes should be broken down and recycled in a blue paper bin. If the cartridge/toner is leaking, please put it into a plastic bag. Your assistance is appreciated!

Student Union and Dining Services Holiday/Break Hours

The residential dining facility in the Campbell Student Union will be open during the winter break and intersession from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday–Friday. Declining balance and flex dollars will be accepted for your convenience. It will remain an all-you-can-eat concept with one door price of $7.99. The Jazzman's Cafe in the Retail Food Court will be open for business from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and seating will be available. The remaining operations in the food court will be closed due to continued renovations in the kitchen areas.

New Equity and Campus Diversity Mini-Grants Approved

The following Equity and Campus Diversity Mini-Grants have been approved:

China Week 2009. Dr. Lian Alon, noted economist from China, will provide lectures and textbooks on the economy in Asian markets. Submitted by Jie Zhang, Director of Center for China Studies and Professor of Sociology. $750.

ASL Signed Performance of the Grapes of Wrath. The theater department will provide accessible theater through performances of the Grapes of Wrath in American Sign Language. Submitted by Cindy Neuroth-Giambrone and Drew Kahn, Theater Department. $750.

China's Sacred Sites: Exhibition and Lecture. Selected photographs of sacred architectural sites in China will be displayed in the Upton Gallery followed by a lecture. Submitted by Richard Ross, Design, and Lin Xia Zhang, Fine Arts. $1000.

Diaspora Drumming Ensemble: A Journey of African Culture. A series of hands-on workshops and concerts will provide an understanding of the cultural traditions of African drumming. Submitted by Lisa Hunter, Music Department. $500.

December 24 Payday

The Payroll and Human Resource Management offices will be closed on Thursday and Friday, December 25 and 26. Employees who are unable to pick up their paycheck or direct deposit advice on December 24 and wish to have it mailed to their home address should submit a request to Payroll by Thursday, December 18. Requests can be made by e-mail to alessidp@buffalostate.edu, or in writing to the Payroll Department at CLEV 408.
