The annual Donor Day Reception, honoring all Buffalo State College employees who supported the college through a donation in 2006–2007, will be held this afternoon. To those who are unable to attend the event, the Faculty and Staff Appeal Committee wishes to take this opportunity to thank you for responding to the annual Faculty and Staff Appeal and for supporting the intellectual, professional, and personal growth of our students, faculty, and staff.

Human Resource Management revised a number of forms:

We have noticed an increase in deceptive e-mail messages containing links that can trigger virus activity. Many of these claim to be from a cousin, neighbor, or friend bringing holiday greetings or e-cards. Occasionally, these are not picked up by the Barracuda or Outlook virus/junk mail filters, and may be delivered to your e-mailbox. These e-mails are characterized by a message stating that someone has sent you an e-card, but that person is not named. There is generally a link to a Web site in the message.

The network upgrades in Houston Gym and the Sports Arena have been completed. Work in Butler Library will continue into Monday, August 20. Upgrades in Donald Savage Building, Rockwell Hall, Ketchum Hall, and Bacon Hall are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, August 21–22.

On behalf of the staff of Elm Leaves, thank you for all your submissions for the 2006 edition. Buffalo State is truly blessed to have such an abundance of talent. However, due to circumstances beyond our control and a glitch in the filing system, our files have been misplaced.

The Feast of the Assumption Mass originally scheduled for August 15 was held yesterday as a 5:30 p.m. vigil Mass. There are no masses scheduled for today, August 15, as erroneously announced in Monday's Daily. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
