A memorial Mass honoring the life and accomplishments of I. Joyce Swartney, a former faculty member and associate dean of the Faculty of Natural and Social Sciences at Buffalo State, will take place on Tuesday, September 11, at 12:15 p.m. in the Newman Center, 1219 Elmwood Avenue. A reception will follow.

The entire campus community is welcome as we gather to remember all those touched by the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Let us pray for peace in our world and in the hearts of all who inhabit it. The 12th annual Student Affairs Professional Conference will be held at the Buffalo Niagara Marriott on Saturday, November 10. This powerful one-day symposium, "Making Our Campus as Good as Our Promise: The Role of Higher Education Professionals," is designed for students, new professionals, seasoned professionals, and faculty in higher education.

Computing and Technology Services will be upgrading network equipment in the computer room on the morning of Wednesday, September 5. Users may experience a brief loss of connectivity (less than one minute) between 5:00 and 6:00 a.m. on that day.

The Student Affairs Professional Conference Committee is accepting papers for the Buffalo State College 12th annual Student Affairs Professional Conference on Saturday, November 10. The theme of this year's conference is "Making Our Campus as Good as Our Promise: The Role of Higher Education Professionals."

Buffalo State College is offering SUNY CPR/AED classes free of charge to all students, faculty, and staff. Classes are scheduled for Tuesday, September 11; Thursday, September 20; and Tuesday, September 25. Classes start at 10:00 a.m. You only need to attend one class, which lasts two hours.
