Free computer training for faculty, staff, and students at Buffalo State is offered year-round on a variety of topics. Courses for June and July include ANGEL, iPhoto (for Macintosh), Adobe GoLive, remote access, the Buffalo State Photo Gallery, the Web template system, and tracking Web site statistics. Scholarship to Honor Joseph S. Sperrazza

Buffalo State College has announced a newly endowed scholarship to honor the memory of alumnus Joseph Sperrazza, a revered teacher and administrator with the Buffalo Board of Education. The Joseph S. Sperrazza Endowed Scholarship Fund will provide an annual award to a student—undergraduate or graduate—working toward a degree in elementary or secondary education at Buffalo State. Administered by the Buffalo State College Foundation, the fund is now accepting applications for the fall. The 2007 Commencement Committee extends a warm thank-you to the campus community for its generous support of the 135th Commencement ceremonies. Faculty and staff from across campus volunteered their time on Saturday, May 12, during three ceremonies to march, serve as ushers, greet guests, and assist graduates. Also, in celebration of the 135th Commencement, Alumni Ambassadors represented their classes by marching in the morning and afternoon ceremonies.

New Transfer Students Start Registering June 4

New transfer students accepted for fall 2007 who have paid their deposits will be eligible to register through Banner on Monday, June 4, in advance of the first Transfer Orientation date of June 26. Transfers who have been accepted will receive a letter from Admissions this week notifying them of this option. This may generate some inquiries to academic and student support offices.

Father Pat invites all administration, faculty, and staff to support the student programs provided by the Newman Center at Buffalo State College. Join us on Friday June 8, from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. and celebrate summer at our fourth annual “Savor the Summer Wine-Tasting Party” under the tent in the Rockwell Quad. Enjoy a delightful evening of wine tasting, delicious hors d’oeuvres, sumptuous desserts, live music, a raffle drawing of fabulous grand prizes, and an auction of unique gift baskets.
