They will be networking with students and sharing how their involvement through the radio station as an undergraduate helped them get to where they are today. This event kicks off New Media Weekend, a 25th anniversary celebration of WBNY, and is being sponsored by WBNY, the WBNY Alumni Chapter, the Alumni Association, the Faculty-Student Association, VH1 and VH1.com. Workshops to Success Session on The Write Approach: Discovering Your Topic

The Write Approach: Discovering Your Topic is the next session in the Workshops to Success series, sponsored by University College’s Academic Skills Center and offered free to students on Wednesday, October 24, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Butler Library 210B. If you’re suffering from the dreaded writer’s block, instructor-tutor Anne Marie Golaszewski will show you how to overcome the obstacles that keep you from getting that essay written. By using sure-fire methods of brainstorming, freewriting, and clustering, you will not only discover what to write about, but you will also learn how to organize your ideas. Discover Teaching in Learning Communities

Learning communities are built to allow students and faculty to experience intellectual kinship and academic discourse at its best. University College is sponsoring a conversation for faculty to explore teaching in learning communities for the 2008–2009 academic year. Online Courses for Spring 2008 Now Available in Two Formats

Spring 2008 courses are now available in two formats: the familiar listing by department, and a new version listing all departments together. This new choice provides a search option by course. To search, click on Edit > Find > then enter the course you want to see, e.g., PSY 101. The page automatically scrolls to the course sought. This version allows copying and pasting sections to a Word document or printing all course listings at once.

Postpartum Depression Community Meeting: November 8

You are invited to the second Postpartum Mood Disorders Task Force meeting, sponsored by the Social Work Department, on Thursday, November 8, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. in Classroom Building C122.
