Faculty may enter their fall grades on SABRE beginning at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 6. All grades must be entered no later than 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 18. For information, visit www.buffalostate.edu/sabre/facstaff and click on SABRE Final Grading Instructions. If you have forgotten your SABRE password, please call SABRE Support at ext. 3434. If you cannot log in to SABRE for any other reason, please call the Computing Help Desk at ext. 4357 for assistance. If you should encounter problems with grading, please call the Registrar's Office at ext. 4811. As always, SABRE hours are Tuesday–Friday, 1:00 a.m.–8:00 p.m.; Saturday, 1:00 a.m.–Monday 8:00 p.m. (continuous).

EAP Workshop: Practical Self-Defense

The Employee Assistance Program is pleased to offer a free workshop on basic self-defense skills with instructors from Grand Master Chong’s World Class Tae Kwon Do studio from 10:00 a.m. to noon on Thursday, January 11, in Houston Gym. Learn general skills to better protect yourself in a fun, safe environment with the ABCs of self-defense: Awareness/Avoidance (at home, while driving, when walking, etc.), Boundaries (posture, eye contact, voice tone, etc.), and Contact (the basics of martial arts training). Come and meet local professionals who will demonstrate the benefits of martial arts, including improved endurance, flexibility, camaraderie, and a greater sense of personal security. Feast of the Immaculate Conception

Father Pat, director of campus ministry at the Newman Center, will celebrate Mass on the Feast of the Immaculate Conception, Friday, December 8, at 12:05 p.m. in Campbell Student Union 419. There will also be a vigil Mass on Thursday, December 7, at 6:00 p.m. in our chapel at 1219 Elmwood Avenue. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome!

The Conable Family Foundation to Support 2007 Milton Rogovin Exhibit

The Conable Family Foundation will provide support in the amount of $2,500 for a planned Milton Rogovin exhibit of his Haudenosaunee photographs. Foundation funding will support the scanning of 150 images in order to select large-format reproductions for printing. Funding will also cover the creation of an exhibition catalog.

Buffalo Bill Coy Wire to Serve As Spokesman for Project Flight Literacy Event

Project Flight at Buffalo State College, a not-for-profit agency devoted to family and children’s literacy services, received a prestigious 2006 Buffalo Bills Youth Foundation grant, “The Buffalo Bills/Project Flight Coy Wire Readers Are Players Program." This will allow Project Flight to establish BookNook programs, which will include on-site libraries and a family literacy resource center as well as tutors for children, parents, and teachers at two at-risk schools. The two schools selected are Enterprise Charter School and Buffalo Public School 18, comprising children from high-poverty areas and/or special needs. The focus will be on reading success, family involvement, and academic achievement.

Newest Edition of Bengal Magazine Streaming Online

The newest edition of Bengal Magazine is now streaming online at the Athletics Department's Web site. The 30-minute show, taped every two weeks in conjunction with Instructional Resources, showcases the department's coaches, student-athletes, and support staff. This week's edition features women's basketball coach Sue Roarke with senior forward Darnika Moseley and men's basketball coach Fajri Ansari with senior guard Carlton "PeeWee" Guiden.
