Getting Ready for Solicitor Training and SEFA Kick-Off

The 2006 SEFA/United Way Campaign Committee is firming up plans for the September 14 Solicitor Training and the annual Campaign Kick-Off. Solicitors will gather in Butler Library 208 at 11:15 a.m. to receive their packets and words of advice on how to conduct a successful campaign. At 12:15 p.m. President Howard will launch the official State Employees Federated Appeal/United Way Campaign. Mark your calendars and enjoy some refreshments while learning about the needs in our community and ways your SEFA contribution can help.

Great Eyes Photo Journal Contest (www.buffalostate.edu/studentlife/x715.xml) for faculty, staff, and students! Grab your camera and walk around campus. Show Buffalo State College your great eye for architecture. You are encouraged to submit your pictures of buildings around the campus. Submit your pictures to the Student Life Office no later than September 29. Once all entries are received, the pictures will be posted online for a campuswide vote! The top choices will be displayed in the Union for the rest of the year!

If you have forgotten your SABRE password, please call SABRE Support at ext. 3434. If you cannot log in to SABRE for any other reason, please call the Computing Help Desk at ext. 4357 for assistance. If you should encounter problems with grading, please call the Registrar's Office at ext. 4811. The grading window for SABRE will close at 8:00 p.m. this evening.

There will be two Introduction to ANGEL workshops scheduled for August 25—one from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. and another from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. (sign up for just one session). If you are one of the 70 Buffalo State volunteers who will participate in this year's Day of Caring, be sure to come to the steps of Rockwell Hall this morning, Monday, August 14, at 9:30 a.m. to receive your Day of Caring T-shirt and have your photo taken with President Howard and this year's campaign chairman, Vice President Voldemar Innus. This year our colleagues will spend their Community Service Day at Agape Parents' Fellowship, Benedict House, the Food Bank of Western New York, and Journey's End Refuge Services. Thank you, all!
