New Course:
EXE 691 Applied Master's Project in Special Education. Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Teacher candidates plan, design, implement, and interpret results from their student-centered evidence-based intervention, grounded in professional literature. To demonstrate special education pedagogical and content knowledge and skills, candidates conduct this project in an applied setting and make data-based decisions to determine the impact on academic, behavioral, functional, or social outcomes. This work culminates in the dissemination of their written project. Offered every semester.

Course Revision:
EXE 623 Assessment and Instruction in Math for Students with Disabilities (formerly EXE 623 Assessment and Instruction in Math for Students with High Incidence Disabilities). Prerequisites: EXE 501 and EXE 503. Identifying the learning characteristics of students with disabilities in math; assessing and planning evidence-based math instruction to address skill deficits and conceptual understanding in standards-based mathematics and functional programing for grades Pre-K-12. Offered every semester.

EXE 684 Practice-Based Research in Exceptional Education (formerly EXE 684 Graduate Seminar in Exceptional Education). Prerequisite: Instructor permission. Teacher candidates develop an understanding of the research process and how it is applied in classroom environments. Collaboratively, they identify a meaningful and authentic classwide and/or individual educational need, study the literature, and plan a single case design study. This process results in a proposal that is foundational for EXE 690 Master's Project, completed the succeeding semester. Offered every semester.

EXE 690 Master's Project in Exceptional Education (formerly EXE 690 Master's Project). Prerequisite: EXE 684 or instructor permission. Teacher candidates implement, report, and disseminate the single case study designed in EXE 684 the previous semester. This data-based, applied project is directly related to each candidate's program area of study and will be implemented in educational settings. Offered every semester.

EXE 638 Collaboration and Social Skills. Prerequisites: EXE 100 and EXE 500 or equivalent. Foundational knowledge and skills for teacher candidates related to the needs of students with disabilities and those at risk; the educational systems in which these students are served; and the teaching approaches most effective for meeting their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral needs. Presentation and discussion of the foundations of educational collaboration and instructional and inter/intrapersonal practices for students with disabilities in various settings. Models and methods for working within team contexts, and strategies and skills for co-teaching, consultation, communication, collaboration, and working with families and caregivers. Offered every semester.

Marketing involves understanding consumer needs and wants; deciding which target markets the organization can serve best; and developing a value proposition by which the organization can attract, keep, and grow targeted consumers. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 360 Principles of Management. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. The principles, techniques, and concepts needed for managerial analysis and decision-making. Course highlights the effective management of planning, organizing, influencing, and controlling related to the internal and external environment and issues of ethics and social responsibility. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 365 Entrepreneurship. Prerequisite: Sophomore standing. Overview of the entrepreneurial process. Focus on identifying and evaluating ideas and learning the steps and competencies required to launch a successful new venture. Topics include characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, techniques for finding and screening ideas, entrepreneurial finance, valuation and dealmaking, and writing a business plan. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 403 Consumer Behavior. Prerequisites: BUS 320, business major. Investigation of market offerings and their effect on consumers' lives before, during, and after the point of purchase. Specifically, how these items influence how consumers feel, especially in the canon of social media and the digital age. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 420 International Marketing. Prerequisites: BUS 320, business major. Various concepts and tools for analyzing international marketing strategies and evaluating the marketplace, including competitors and the external environment: demographic, cultural, economic, technological, political/legal, natural, and presenting marketing opportunities. Focus on developing, evaluating, and implementing international marketing strategy at all geographic levels. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 321 Digital Marketing and Strategy (formerly BUS 321 Marketing on the Internet). Prerequisite: BUS 320. Exploration of core principles of developing a digital marketing campaign, required strategies for conversion, and industry tools. Students gain essential knowledge of social media marketing, search engine optimization, content strategy, email marketing, and campaign key performance indicators, equipping them with the skills to excel in the dynamic digital landscape. BUS 324 Business Communication. Prerequisites: BUS 360, business major, junior or senior standing. Communication principles, concepts, and techniques that are essential components for effective organizational behavior in a business setting. Emphasis on planning, organizing, composing, and revising business documents such as emails, memos, letters, and reports. Includes presentation skills, professional behavior in the workplace, and current and digital communication technologies. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 368 Sports Management and Marketing. Prerequisites: BUS 320 and BUS 360. The administration, coordination, technical considerations, and evaluation of event-related sports. Provides professional and general education base for careers in sports and recreational management and marketing. Open to business and non-business majors. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 369 Organizational Change and Development. Prerequisites: BUS 360, business major. The process of organizational change; conceptual foundation, principles, and practical applications for use in the design and development of organizations to improve organizational effectiveness in dynamic and competitive environments. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 430 Strategic Management. Prerequisites: Business major, senior standing. Methods and techniques commonly used in strategic management decision making. Provides a background in strategic analysis and implementation of strategy in a global environment. Examines the total enterprise, the industry, and the competitive environment in which it operates. Capstone course that integrates all previous coursework. Offered fall and spring semesters.

BUS 460 Operations Management. Prerequisites: BUS 360, junior or senior standing. Provides a fundamental understanding of manufacturing and service operations and their role in the organization. Surveys a wide range of operations topics, including process analysis, supply chain management, capacity planning, facilities location, quality management, and production and resource planning. Offered fall and spring semesters.

SLP 401 Aural Rehabilitation. Prerequisites: SLP 303 and SLP 314. Effects of hearing loss on speech perception, speech production, and language development; amplification and intervention options for individuals with hearing loss; tinnitus assessment and treatment options; vestibular system assessment; classroom acoustics; definition, diagnosis, and management of auditory processing disorders. Offered fall semester.

SLP 424 Speech-Language Pathology Programs in Schools. Prerequisites: SLP 305, SLP 314, and SLP 411. In-depth examination of speech-language pathology in schools, including legislative foundations, current models of service delivery, assessment and intervention procedures, organization and administration of programs, emerging trends shaping the future of school speech-language pathology programs. Offered spring semester.

SLP 516 Diagnostic Principles and Procedures. Prerequisite: Graduate standing in the speech-language pathology program. Corequisite: SLP 518. Exploration and implementation of diagnostic procedures in speech-language pathology. Emphasis on the problem-solving principles and the importance of evidence-based and culturally appropriate practice in the clinical evaluation of individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. Offered fall semester.

SLP 518 Extended Applications in Communication Sciences and Disorders. Prerequisite: Graduate standing in the speech-language pathology program. Corequisite: SLP 516. Laboratory course that provides students with hands-on experience using various formal and informal assessment procedures, and with the diagnostic and therapeutic application of instrumentation commonly used in communication sciences and disorders (CSD). Offered fall semester.
