Fall Equinox Pumpkin Drop: September 21

Posted:

Please join the Geography and Planning Department for its annual fall tradition, the Fall Equinox Pumpkin Drop, on Thursday, September 21, between 1:00 and 1:30 p.m. on the south side of the Classroom Building (between the Classroom and Technology Buildings). We will drop a pumpkin from the roof of the Classroom Building to celebrate the fall equinox—the seasonal shift from summer to fall.

Sign the pumpkin before the drop (it brings good luck) and enjoy free cider and cookies.

This event is organized by Informed Students Addressing Climate Change (ISACC) and the Geography and Planning Department and supported by the Arthur W. Gielow Meteorology Fund.

Weight Watchers Inspire Event: September 13

Posted:

The Buffalo State Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers Weight Watchers meetings on campus every Wednesday from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Cleveland Hall 205. Meetings are open to faculty, staff, and students.

If you want to know more before joining, please stop by and get inspiration from the success of a Weight Watchers meeting leader and from your peers. Attend our Inspire Event on Wednesday, September 13, from noon to 1:00 p.m. in Cleveland Hall 205 and purchase a Weight Watchers membership between September 5 and September 15 to get a free starter kit ($70 value) full of tools to help you get started and stay on track.

If you are currently attending these meetings, keep up the great work and get ready to welcome some new members! If you have been thinking about joining, now is the best time to join.

Benefits of the “At-Work” Program:

Flexibility – When you sign up for the Monthly Pass, you’ll get access to weekly At-Work meetings; unlimited local meetings; and eTools, the Internet weight-loss companion.

Convenience – Weight Watchers brings the meetings right to campus, so even the busiest person can still attend.

Daily motivation – Since a majority of our week is most likely spent at work or school, attending Weight Watchers on campus creates a great network for ongoing support and motivation.

Fee – Participants must register for a Monthly Pass, costing $44.95 a month, payable by credit card, debit card, or PayPal.

Please contact Gina Game, campus coordinator, with questions.
