Respond to Needs of Hurricane Maria Victims: Donate Today

The City of Buffalo has announced that over $15,000 has been donated locally to date for the Hurricane Maria Relief Fund set up by the Belle Center, and there is still time for the Buffalo State community to respond. The Belle Center will accept donations of water, dry foods, canned foods, diapers, baby wipes, pet food, and more until 6:00 p.m. today, October 6, at 104 Maryland Street, Buffalo, NY 14207. Tax-deductible donations may also be made by checks payable to the Puerto Rico Hurricane Maria Relief Fund. Demonstrate Buffalo State's civil and caring community by responding to this urgent crisis today. Thank you.

Register Today: Graduate School Alumni Happy Hour

Join fellow Buffalo State alumni from all master's degree programs for a happy hour during Homecoming 2017 on Friday, October 27, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. on the second-floor balcony* of Coles, 1104 Elmwood Avenue.

The event will feature beer, wine, nonalcoholic drinks, and a buffet with Buffalo bar food and appetizers. The cost is $10 per person for alumni and $15 per person for all other guests. Please register by 5:00 p.m. Monday, October 23.

Cooking in Caudell Studio: October 11

Cooking with Chef Don is back at the beautiful new culinary studio in Caudell Hall on Wednesday, October 11, at 4:00 p.m. Please join the Hospitality and Tourism Department's chef and certified culinary educator, Don Schmitter, as he demonstrates techniques and recipes for everyone on campus. This event will be recorded live, and attendees can ask questions and sample food for a small fee. The first session will be vegetable crepes—one vegan and one traditional—stuffed with seasonal vegetable compotes and finished with a creamy goat cheese sauce and Vidalia onion puree (vegan). This initial session is free and open to the campus community (future sessions will be $20). Please join Chef Don and learn some cooking tips while getting a tasty sample! First Friday Mass: October 6

Come and celebrate Mass on the First Friday of each month at 8:00 a.m. in the Newman Center Chapel. We will gather for Mass and start the month with a renewed perspective. Stay for a cup of coffee afterward or take a cup to go. Our next celebration will take place this Friday, October 6.
