Annual Chili Sale: October 31

Posted:

The Buffalo State dietitian education program Class of 2019 will hold its annual chili sale on Tuesday, October 31, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. This event is an opportunity for students to practice community outreach and event planning skills during their program. All proceeds from this year’s chili sale will be donated to the relief efforts for Hurricane Harvey victims. We hope that our efforts will have an impact, and we thank you again for contributing to this cause.

A vegetarian and a beef chili option are available. Each chili order will be accompanied by a bottled water, a fresh roll, and an apple, all for $6. You may also add some delicious hand-dipped chocolate-covered pretzels for an additional $1.

Electronic orders and payments can be made online, and orders will be delivered to offices. Cash payments may also be made at the time of delivery. Walk-in orders will be taken inside or outside Caudell Hall on the day of the sale.

The Buffalo State Class of 2019 thanks you for your support and for being a part of impact, action, and learning. If you have questions or concerns, please e-mail buffstatechilisale17@gmail.com and we will promptly respond. Bon appétit!

National Prescription Take-Back Day: October 28

Posted:

Saturday, October 28, is National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day, and Buffalo State will host a drop-off site from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in Cleveland Circle (front of Cleveland Hall).

Recent news about the detection of prescription drugs in drinking water has caused concern about the impact on human health. Also, storing expired or unwanted medications in your home increases the risk of accidental poisoning. Help protect our water and your safety by disposing of medicines properly through collection and incineration.

Please bring medications in their original labeled containers; blacken out personal information. The following items will be accepted, no questions asked:

  • prescription or over-the-counter medications (any type, expired or unwanted)
  • syringes
  • inhalers
  • liquids
  • ointments
  • patches

Please DO NOT bring mercury-containing or radioactive products.

For a full list of drop-off locations or more information, please visit the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration website or call (800) 882-9539.
