The Roaring Bengals, a '20s-Themed Dinner Extravaganza: November 14

The campus community is invited to the biggest dining event of the year, when Chartwells transforms the Bengal Kitchen into the Roaring '20s for dinner, on Tuesday, November 14, from 4:30 to 9:15 p.m. The entire space will take you back to the era of Prohibition and Buffalo’s heyday. We will have a specialty menu straight out of the '20s, along with art-deco décor, a live jazz band, and a photo booth. See you there!

Athletics to Host Blood Drive in Support of UNYTS: November 7

Faculty and staff members are encouraged to donate at the annual Bengals Blood Drive, hosted by Intercollegiate Athletics in support of UNYTS, on Tuesday, November 7, from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in Houston Gym. All donors will receive a Real Fans Bleed Orange T-shirt, free pizza, and a gift card from Spot Coffee in the Campbell Student Union. In addition, all donors will be entered to win $50 gift cards to Wegmans, Barnes and Noble, Jimmy Johns, and the Pearl Street Grill as well as dinner for two at Chef’s Restaurant. Donors are asked to bring photo ID. Please contact senior associate athletics director Tom Koller, 878-6514, with questions.

Nutrition Club Bake Sale: November 7

The Buffalo State Nutrition Club will hold a bake sale for disaster relief fundraising on Tuesday, November 7, during Bengal Pause in the Campbell Student Union. The sale will feature $1 breakfast bars and popcorn. Club members will also travel to various buildings on campus. All proceeds from the sale will go to the Red Cross Disaster Relief Services.

Those who are unable to purchase items but would still like to make a donation may e-mail bscnutritionclub@gmail.com or stop by the Student Union during the sale.

Alternative Break: Thanksgiving Dessert Fundraiser

The Alternative Break student leadership team is hosting its annual Thanksgiving Dessert Fundraiser. Alternative Break is a student-led program in the Civic and Community Engagement Office that engages students in direct service alongside community nonprofit organizations, education surrounding social justice and social issues, and critical reflection during winter, spring, and summer co-curricular service trips.

This year the student leadership team is offering pies, breads, and hostess gifts to help you and your loved ones celebrate Thanksgiving and the holiday season:

  • Homemade Thanksgiving Pies: Apple, Chocolate-Peanut Butter, Cranberry-Orange, Pecan, Pumpkin
  • Dessert Breads: Chocolate-Pumpkin Swirl, Cranberry Swirl
  • Holiday and Host Mason Jar Gifts: Hot Cocoa Mix, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Brownies, Winter Stew

Please submit your order by Friday, November 10, for a November 20 delivery date. Pricing, ingredient details, and the order form can be found on the CCE Office website. All proceeds will go toward offsetting student travel, housing, and meal costs associated with students’ participation in an alternative break trip.
