The Productivity Enhancement Program (PEP) is available for 2018 to eligible UUP-represented employees. Please join us for a series of webinars to observe Malnutrition Awareness Week September 24–28. Every 60 seconds, 10 hospitalized patients go undiagnosed with malnutrition. Malnutrition has many negative impacts on patient outcomes—higher infection rates, poor wound healing, longer lengths of stay, higher frequency of readmission, and increased costs.

Malnutrition Awareness Week is a multiorganizational, multipronged campaign by the American Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition designed to

• educate health-care professionals to identify and treat malnutrition earlier;
• encourage consumers and patients to discuss their nutritional status with health-care professionals;
• increase awareness of nutrition’s role on patient recovery.

The conference includes representatives of several anchor institutions in Buffalo, including the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority, ECMC, Turner Construction, Wegmans, and the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus. Keynote presenters will be New York State Senator Chris Jacobs and New York State Assemblyman Sean Ryan. The conference includes materials and refreshments.
