Hot Water Interruption to Most Campus Buildings Thursday Evening through Sunday Afternoon

Posted:

A planned steam and hot water interruption will take place beginning at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 25, to facilitate ongoing rehabilitation of the underground utilities in and around the Rockwell Quadrangle. The procedure will interrupt hot water service to all buildings on campus except the Burchfield Penney Art Center and the Student Apartment Complex. Service is expected to be reinstated midday on Sunday, July 28.

Program functions that specifically require hot water or steam are being individually contacted and accommodated. Heat should not be a concern because campus buildings do not usually require heat at this time of year.

Your patience and understanding are appreciated as the rehabilitation continues. Questions about this project can be e-mailed to vpfm@buffalostate.edu. Please refer to the campus construction website for information about current and upcoming capital projects.

A portion of the sidewalk immediately west of Rockwell Hall will be closed beginning Tuesday, July 30.  Pedestrians attempting to travel between Iroquois Drive and Rockwell Road behind Rockwell Hall will be required to take one of two detours—either east around Rockwell Hall or west around Rockwell Quad.

This closure, scheduled to continue through Thursday, August 8, will expedite the underground utility rehabilitation project on the eastern portion of the campus. For more information about campus capital projects, please visit the Buffalo State construction website. Questions about this project can be directed to vpfm@buffalostate.edu

Computing and Technology Services implemented a new internal Help Desk ticketing system on July 15. We expect a smooth transition to the new system, but we’re asking for your patience for the first few weeks while we adjust to the changes.

As always, if you contact the Help Desk to open a ticket, we recommend that you ask the technician for the Change Order (CO) number. And please mention your CO number if you need to call the Help Desk for a status update.
