Staples Advantage Is State Contract Vendor for Office Supplies

Posted:

The State of New York has negotiated a centralized contract with Staples Advantage, making Staples the sole New York State contract vendor for office supplies. In addition to discounts on more than 8,000 commonly used items, Staples offers close to 300 items that are priced extremely low.

While purchasing through Office Max will continue to be an option, Staples should be the vendor of choice for all office supply needs if pricing is competitive and items can fit the form, function, and utility required.

Procurement Services and Staples will soon host a formal training session for placing online orders. Once a date has been set, an announcement will be made in the Daily Bulletin. Meanwhile, please place Staples orders by completing a pink requisition form and submitting it to Procurement Services. Catalogs are available for current registered Office Max users to pick up in Procurement Services.

We are working diligently to make the transition from Office Max to Staples as smooth as possible. Further information will be communicated as it becomes available.

Updated Purchase Requistion Form

Posted:

Procurement Services has revised the Purchase Requisition form, which is now available on our website for everyone to use. In order to be consistent, we would like everyone to use only this form and not any previous version. Please note two changes to this new form: (1) a minimum of two quotes is now required for any amount over $5,000, and (2) if there will be shipping charges for your order, the shipping charges must now be included on the requisition. Please note the statement at the bottom of the requisition regarding this.

Changes to Travel Process Beginning July 15

Posted:

In accordance with state requirements, Buffalo State’s Central Travel Account will be canceled effective Monday, July 15. After this date, campus employees will no longer have access to this service.

Instead, three options will be available to campus employees who engage in official travel:

  2. Travel Card: Some campus employees may qualify to obtain an individual state travel card. Generally, those who have more than three overnight stays per year may, with supervisory approval, apply for a travel card. Please contact the travel card administrator for additional information.

  3. Non-Employee Travel Card: Some campus employees may qualify to obtain a non-employee travel (NET) card to process travel transactions on behalf of certain non-employees. Please contact the NET card administrator for details.

For additional information, please consult the Travel Services Department website, or contact travel card administrator Barbara Jones.

Thank you.
