EDUCAUSE is promoting January as Data Privacy Month with a month’s worth of webinars and resources to help raise data privacy awareness. The EDUCAUSE site has information about the month’s events and links to valuable resources for institutions and consumers. Computing and Technology Services will post relevant links and tips on our Help Desk Twitter Feed throughout the month.

The search feature under "Look Up Classes" in Banner recently experienced a glitch when an upgrade caused the “All” search feature under “Subject” to disappear. This has now been restored. Thank you for your patience.

To use the full Class Search features, click on the "Advanced Search" option at the bottom of the page and then search as you normally would in the past. The “All” option shows first under the “Subject” item.

This Second Friday event and happy hour is inspired by the exhibition Weather Event and features the presentation "Seeing Stars in Burchfield's Works" by Kevin Williams, director of the Whitworth Ferguson Planetarium. Williams discusses his findings on Burchfield’s works featuring stars and moons, and explains the constellation Orion, which is illustrated in the museum’s reception area ceiling.

Weather permitting, stargazing will take place on the Louise Terrace.

Music will be provided by Honey Girl & the Horseshoe Falls, featuring tracks from the new album, Oh Lake Erie.

The Burchfield Penney galleries will be open until 7:30 p.m. as part of January Second Friday.

Applications for the Robert J. Elmes Jr. Memorial Scholarship are now available for the spring 2012 semester. All CSEA local 640 members and their dependent children registered at Buffalo State College for at least 3 credit hours for the spring 2012 semester may apply for the $250 scholarship. Applications were mailed out to all CSEA members and must be completed and returned to Mary Codick in Caudell Hall 101 by Friday, January 27.
