VSLC Service-Learning Faculty Fellowships: Deadline Is Today!

Today is the deadline for submission of VSLC Service-Learning Faculty Fellowship applications. Join the over 70 Buffalo State faculty who have become fellows since 2003! 

Service-Learning Faculty Fellows will acquire an in-depth understanding of service-learning pedagogy through an intensive three-day workshop facilitated by nationally recognized experts in service-learning, and will be supported through the process of converting an existing course or creating a new course which incorporates service-learning. Faculty Fellowship training dates are set for May 17, 18, and 19, 2011.

Tell Students: Study Abroad Scholarship Deadline Is April 1

Friday, April 1, is the deadline for students participating in Buffalo State programs abroad during summer 2011, fall 2011, and spring 2012 to apply for scholarships. Students must have a cumulative average of 3.0 or better to qualify. In excess of $4,000 will be awarded. Applications are available in South Wing 410.

Student Life Presents Union Bash

Hosted by the Student Life Office, Buffalo State's Campbell Student Union Bash is an annual spring event that invites the entire campus community out for a night full of fun. Various student organizations and departments help sponsor this very popular, community-building event. You are invited to participate and be a part of this program, Friday, March 11.

This semester's beach party theme will include a tiki climbing wall, beach themed green screen photos, volleyball, a mocktail tiki bar, and spin art stunner shades. Pride Alliance will sponsor a drag show, Health Promotions will provide safe spring break tips, and USG will sponsor bingo. 

Student Life looks forward to the return of the offices and student groups listed below who supported the Union Bash in the past: Health Promotions, United Students Government, Pride Alliance, Inter-Greek Association, NYPIRG, Commuter Council, Gamma Sigma Sigma, Delta Sigma Theta, Lambda Theta Alpha, Sigma Gamma Rho, Omega Psi Phi, N.S.B.E., CSO, AASO.

Pre-Retirement Planning Workshop

A pre-retirement planning workshop, "Will Your Income Make the Journey?," will be presented by ING on Thursday, March 10, from noon to 1:30 p.m. in E. H. Butler Library 210. Topics to be discussed:

-Identify sources of income in retirement
-Develop a retirement spending plan
-Learn about positioning your assets to last throughout retirement
-Review your investments and determine an appropriate asset allocation strategy
