Donate Your Old Eyeglasses and Sunglasses

Posted:

EVERGREEN will be collecting eyeglasses and sunglasses during the month of April. There are drop boxes located at the information desks in the Campbell Student Union and E. H. Butler Library. Glasses can also be sent through campus mail to EVERGREEN, Moore Hall 124. By donating your glasses you are helping people with eyesight difficulties worldwide. With the price of glasses exceeding three months' average salary in some African countries, donated eyeglasses are the only feasible way to bring sight to many visually impaired.

Thank you for your help!

Early Intervention Midterm Feedback Due Soon

Posted:

The Early Intervention (EI) midterm feedback grading window is now open in Banner and will close at 9:00 p.m. on Monday, April 4.

Please note that the midterm grading feature in Banner is “all or nothing.” You will be able to enter midterm grades for all of the students in all of your classes, if you so choose. Midterm grades for non-EI students will assist students outside of the EI program’s population to independently seek academic assistance to improve their performance in your courses.

Students will be able to view their midterm grade estimates in Banner and academic advisers (and program administrators) will be able to review a midterm grade report for all students. The midterm grades will not appear on any student transcript nor will they be calculated into any grade point average, as they are unofficial estimates of student performance at the midpoint of the semester.

If you need assistance entering the EI grades, please contact the HELP Desk at ext. 4357.

Support the Purple Pinkie Project: Help Eradicate Polio Worldwide

Posted:

The Buffalo State chapter of the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) will be painting pinkie fingers purple, today, Tuesday, March 22, and Wednesday, March 23, for a $1 donation to Polio Plus. The Polio Plus program is working to eradicate polio worldwide. Why a purple pinkie? This is what is done in many places after a child receives a polio vaccine. Polio is still prevalent in countries like India and Afghanistan. Help us protect children and rid the world of polio. ACEI members will be in the Campbell Student Union from noon to 2:00 p.m. today and Wednesday.
