Newman Center Advent Taize Service

Posted:

On Wednesday, December 1, at 7:00 p.m., the Newman Catholic Campus Ministry Center will host an evening of Advent Taizé Prayer. Taizé is the name of a small village in the south of Burgundy, France, and is the home of an international ecumenical community founded by Brother Roger. With life commitments to material and spiritual sharing, the brothers of Taizé try to live out a "parable of community." At the heart of daily life in Taizé are three times of communal prayer with simple chant, scripture, and reflection. Since the late 1950s, millions of young adults from many countries have found their way to Taizé to take part in the weekly meetings of prayer and reflection.

Facilities Operations Advisory

Posted:

Starting on Tuesday, November 16, and continuing through Friday, November 19, the college's central heating plant, located at the corner of Academic Drive and Rockwell Road, will undergo a series of air emissions tests to ensure that the heating systems function properly. During daytime hours, intermittent venting of excess steam from various devices on the plant roof may occur. This process may result in extremely loud noise from this area. This is normal for this activity. Questions concerning this or any other maintenance function may be referred to Customer Service, ext. 6111. Thank you for your understanding.
