H1N1 Vaccine Clinic

Buffalo State will again offer a free H1N1 influenza immunization clinic, Tuesday, February 9, from noon to 4:00 p.m. in the Campbell Student Union lobby. This clinic will be open to all currently enrolled Buffalo State students, faculty, and staff. We will offer both the nasal spray and injections.

College and Community Partnerships: Celebration of Partnerships

The College and Community Partnerships Office will be hosting a Celebration of Partnerships, February 25, from 8:00 to 10:00 a.m. The program and continental breakfast will take place in E. H. Butler Library 210. The Celebration of Partnerships will showcase model partnerships via posters, brief presentations, and handouts. The session will primarily focus on facilitating a dialogue between faculty members and community members.

Seminar: Discovery in Global Atmospheric Circulation

Selkirk of the Goddard Earth Science and Technology Center at the University of Maryland will give a seminar titled "Water Vapor: The Discovery of the Global-Scale Meridional Circulation of the Atmosphere, Stratosphere-Troposphere Exchange and a Climate Trend Puzzle," Thursday, February 4, at 12:30 p.m. in Science Building 205.

The campus community is encouraged to participate in the 13th annual Bengal 5K Run and Fun Walk on Saturday, March 20, beginning at 9:30 a.m. Convenient registration is available online at www.alumni.buffalostate.edu. The Bengal 5K Run and Fun Walk includes chip timing by ScoreThis, a registration gift to all participants, fabulous door prizes during the post-race Bengal Brunch, and a wide variety of age groups so everyone can take part.

Relief Efforts for Haiti

The Buffalo State community has come together to assist the people of Haiti during this most devastating time. Many events are being planned to raise money for Haitian relief as well as to celebrate the contributions of Haiti to the world. Should you wish to make a donation to this worthy cause, the office of the associate vice president for campus life, Campbell Student Union 222, will be accepting donations starting Monday February 1, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Electronic Media Recycling

Red recycling bins are located in main departmental offices for ink/laser cartridges, CDs, DVDs, batteries, disks, cassettes, and any other used electronic media. Please use these bins to recycle all electronic media. In order to help us efficiently recycle, please remove cartridges/toners from their boxes when depositing them in the red electronic media recycling bin. These boxes should be broken down and recycled in a blue paper bin. If the cartridge/toner is leaking please put it into a plastic bag. Your assistance is appreciated!

Call for Artwork: Women's History Month Exhibition

The Women's Studies Interdisciplinary Unit is planning our third annual exhibition to recognize Women's History Month. The exhibition will be on view in E. H. Butler Library's lobby display cases in March. We are looking for artistic and creative works from Buffalo State women faculty, staff, students, and alumnae. If you have an item you would like to loan for use in the exhibition, please contact Barbara Vaughan, associate librarian, at ext. 6317. The last date for submission is February 25.
