Dependent Care Advantage Account Update - Employer Contribution to Expire

With the expiration of the collective bargaining agreements on April 1, 2007 (July 1, 2007, for UUP and GSEU), the employer contribution will no longer be available for employees who enroll in the DCAAccount with a change in status (CIS) form. If you return from a leave of absence, register your school-age child for summer day camp, or experience any other eligible change in status before April 1, 2007 (July 1, 2007, for UUP and GSEU), submit your CIS form to enroll in the DCAAccount and take advantage of the employer contribution.

German Experimental Cinema - Expressionism and the New Wave

German Experimental Cinema will present "Expressionism and the New Wave" on March 20 and March 22 at Buffalo State College. On March 20, the film The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari will be screened with an introductory lecture by Dr. Arthur Lennig (SUNY, Albany) at 7:30 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center East. Dr. Lennig's talk is titled "Caligari: A Milestone of Expressionism." On March 22, the film The Tin Drum (directed by Volker Schlöndorff), with an introductory lecture by Dr. Robert Reimer (University of North Carolina, Charlotte), will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in Bulger Communication Center West. Dr. Reimer's talk is "Once upon a Time: The Tin Drum as Fractured Märchen."

Buffalo State Athletics Teams' Successes Fueled by Support of Faculty and Staff

Buffalo State cheerleaders recently walked away with the first-place trophy and title of New York State champions. The men's swimming team has been recognized as an All-Academic team since 2001, and the women's swimming team earned the honor for the first time this season. Since 1980, the men’s basketball team has qualified for the playoffs every year but one, and has earned 11 conference championships. And the list goes on!

CPR/AED Class at Weigel Health Center

Buffalo State College is offering a SUNY-certified CPR/AED class at 9:30 a.m. Monday, March 19, at Weigel Health Center. You will learn skills to perform CPR on adults, children, and infants, and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED). Additional skills include use of abdominal thrusts to relieve choking victims. You will learn all these skills in less than three hours. This class is free for faculty, staff, and students.
