Flock of Dodos Film Screening, Friday, November 3 at 8:00 pm in Bulger N

Posted:

Flock of Dodos is a new documentary film that delves into the Evolution vs. Intelligent Design “circus.” This film was featured at the Tribeca and Maui Film Festivals. The film takes a witty and sometimes hilarious approach to understanding how the intelligent design movement has successfully promoted “teaching the controversy” and how scientists have sometimes unsuccessfully communicated the evidence of evolution. Randy Olson, evolutionary biologist turned filmmaker, pokes fun at both sides of the issue while putting across the message that communication is a key factor in how science is perceived by the general public. Flock of Dodos will be released for limited screenings around the world this fall and will be at Buffalo State College on November 3, 2006. Randy Olson, film director and writer, will answer questions about the film immediately following the screening. The film is free and open to the public. The film covers topics that will be of interest to educators, politicians, scientists, philosophers, journalists, and many others.
