Are You Sending Your Child to Summer Day Camp?

Posted:

If you are a state employee who is not currently enrolled in the Dependent Care Advantage Account (DCAAccount) and are M/C or represented by CSEA, PEF, UUP, DC37, or GSEU, you are eligible for an employer contribution when you enroll in the DCAAccount for summer day camp. Enrolling in the DCAAccount provides savings since eligible employees may set aside pre-tax funds in order to pay for day camp, and the state contributes as well. The employer contribution to the DCAAccount ranges from $200 to $700, depending on the employee’s annual income. Eligible employees may enroll just for the employer contribution if they choose not to have funds deducted from their biweekly paycheck.

SPSS 12 Users

Posted:

SPSS 12 can no longer be relicensed and will expire at the end of June. Because of that and the recent availability of SPSS 14, Computing and Technology Services will begin upgrading PCs to this new version starting next week. While the upgrade should not affect files in the SPSS directory, it is advised that if you save files in the SPSS install folder that you move these to another location, preferably your My Documents folder or network share. The upgrade will uninstall version 12, and then install version 14. You do not need to put in a request for the upgrade. CTS will perform the installs after hours. Some laptop owners may experience the install upon first connection to the network Tuesday or Wednesday morning. Thank you.

Feeling Good?

Posted:

Most of us can think of things we could do to help ourselves feel better, from getting more sleep to quitting smoking, or eating a healthier diet. But feeling good doesn't just mean taking care of yourself physically—it can also mean paying closer attention to your emotional and even your spiritual health. Taking better care of yourself, from eating right and exercising, to learning how to cope with stress, or making more time for friends and family, can make a real difference in how you feel every day.
