2005 Distinguished Alumnus Award

It's not too late to submit a nomination for the 2005 Distinguished Alumnus Award, presented annually at commencement. Established in 1965, this prestigious award is given to graduates who meet the following criteria: (1) Significant professional achievement or recognition in his/her field; (2) Dedication to community service and volunteerism; (3) Demonstrated ongoing support for and loyalty to the college.

Feel free to stop by with them at Financial Aid in Moot Hall or call me at ext. 5606 if other arrangements need to be made. Thank you in advance for your generosity. Being so close to the Thanksgiving, food donations for Friends of Night People will also be accepted and dropped off with the clothing. If donating perishables, please call first.

SHARING CULTURES THROUGH RECREATION

Hospitality students will host newcomers to the United States at a Buffalo State hockey game on Friday, November 5 at 7 pm in the Sports Arena. This service learning project aims to connect people who have been resettled to the Western New York region (especially the West Side of Buffalo) with the Buffalo State community. Students will kick off a warm clothing drive as part of the project. New hats, mittens, scarves, and thermal undergarments will be collected from November 5 to December 3. Contact obrienkm@buffalostate.edu to arrange for clothing pickup or bring your articles to the game.
