OPEN CAMPUS FORUM ON SENATE RESTRUCTURING

The College Senate By-Laws and Elections Committee is hosting a forum open to all members of the campus community. It will be held in Grover Cleveland 418 today at 12:15 – 1:30 p.m. The topic concerns recent organizational changes and the preparation of an amendment to the By-Laws that will re-structure the composition of the Senate to reflect these structural shifts. Your attendance and input is highly encouraged. If you are unable to attend but have some input for the Committee, please e-mail your thoughts to Mark K. Chancellor King to Speak Tomorrow

President Muriel A. Howard invites the Buffalo State College community to attend a presentation by State University of New York Chancellor Robert L. King at 10 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday, April 26, in the Warren Enters Theatre. Chancellor King will speak to Buffalo State faculty, staff, and students about the “SUNY Tuition Guarantee,” a tuition plan for SUNY.

FACILITIES OPERATIONS ADVISORY

Starting on TUESDAY, MAY 3rd, and continuing through FRIDAY, MAY 6th, the College's central power plant, located west of Academic Drive, will be running a series of tests to ensure that the plant functions properly. During daytime hours, excess steam will be intermittently vented from various devices on the roof. THE PROCESS WILL BE EXTREMELY LOUD. This is NORMAL. Questions concerning this or any other maintenance function may be referred to Customer Service, ext. 6111. Thank you for your understanding.

ROOM CHANGE FOR CASTL SYMPOSIUM TODAY

The room has been changed for the CASTL symposium today at 3 p.m. The symposium will be held in the Assembly Hall, Campbell Student Union. Featured speakers will be John Habel of Western Carolina University, and Gary Solar and Susan Leist of Buffalo State. The program will focus on research into student learning and how to achieve departmental goals.

Today's SABRE Session Canceled

The SABRE session scheduled for today from 11:00-12:00 in BL318 has been canceled. Please contact SABRE Support at 878-3434 or sabresupport@buffalostate.edu to sign up for another session (Monday, April 11th--2-3; Tuesday, April 19th--12:30-1:30; Thursday, April 28th--12:30-1:30). The session focuses on recent functional changes to SABRE including the ability to search for courses using "Lookup Self Service."

Update on Faculty/Staff E-mail Problems

As you know, the campus Exchange server (faculty/staff e-mail) was out of service during most of last week. It has been determined that, despite being up to date on all Microsoft security patches, the server was compromised on Sunday, March 27, and this took down the mail services. (Note: The Barracuda is a separate device and was not a part of this problem.)Mail service was restored on Friday, April 1. Please be aware that messages sent to your campus account between Sunday and Thursday were unable to be delivered, and may have been lost.

The State University of New York Board of Trustees will hold a public hearing at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 1, in Albany to receive testimony and statements from concerned individuals about university issues. Traffic and Parking Advisory

Beginning today, Tuesday, September 27, National Fuel will begin installation of a new gas line south of Moot Hall. A portion of one lane of Rockwell Road eastbound may be closed, and six parking spaces along Rockwell Road (Lot A) will not be available during this project, which is anticipated to be completed within a week. Please use caution when driving on Rockwell Road. Thank you for your cooperation.
